KAMALIG
Kanlungan ng mga Pangarap at Panata
ng Batch 11
ng Aurora National Science High School

There is nothing more appropriate to describe our high school life than the Kamalig. For four long, gruelling and taxing years, kamalig has etched into our minds like our most unforgettable nightmare, as it sheltered our most treasured memories, from our most gruesome and ghastly to the most pleasant and pleasurable moments.

Kamalig redefines our concept of teenage years. From our usual connotation of happy and enjoyable high school life, kamalig bore witness to our hardships and sacrifices, to our struggle to cope with the challenges of our time. It has become spectator to our triumphs and failure, to our feats and defeats. It has groomed us to become leaders of our chosen field.

Of course no one would ever fail to remember how we crammed our physics and chemistry projects just to please Ms. Cahilig, our Miss Montes and Mr. Cabanayan classes, our (mis) adventure to Mother Falls in the middle of our practice for our graduation, and our most controversial graduation ball and its consequences. Anybody who overlooks the strictness of Miss Cahilig, the absences of Miss Fernandez turned Mrs. De Guzman, the “kahinhinan” of Mrs. Domingo, the kindness of Mrs. Picart, the beauty of Mrs. De Mesa, the curly hairs of Mrs. Querijero and Mrs. Adeva that made our hairs –and heads – coil, the nose of Mr. Cabanayan, the “bukol” of Mr. Domingo, the scent of Mrs. Bitong, the accent of Miss Montes and the intelligence of Mrs. Hulipas, the principal, must be cussed and put in cross.

However, these are but pale in comparison with our colorful kamalig life.

Now that we are in our best shape, with our worth we already have proven, it is but a high time to look back and be nostalgic of our past. These blog, aptly called kamalig, would be our one of the many ways we could bring together what went before. It would be the link of our past to our present and future, a living testimony that we were once a high school student. It would be a first bold step to go through with our past lives.
